WHAT IS FAITH IN JESUS?
The Four Spiritual Laws
Just as there are physical laws that govern the physical universe, so are there spiritual laws that govern your relationship with God.
You can receive Christ right now by faith through prayer.
(prayer is talking with God)
God knows your heart and is not so concerned with your words as He is with the attitude of your heart.
The following is a suggested prayer.
Sorry
Lord Jesus, I'm sorry because I have sinned. I need you.
Thank You
Thank you for dying on the cross, forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life.
Please
Please come into my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be.
Does this prayer express the desire of your heart?
If it does, I invite you to pray this prayer right now, and Christ will come into your life, as He promised. When you do pray this prayer, we encourage you to tell someone about your decision, perhaps a family member, close friend, or a pastor.
How to know that Christ is in your life
Did you receive Christ into your life? According to His promise in Revelation 3:20, where is Christ right now in relation to you?
Revelation 3:20
Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.
Christ said He would come into your life. He is the God of truth, he would not mislead you. You can depend on the trustworthiness of God Himself and His Word.
The Bible promises eternal life to ALL who receive Christ
1 John 5:11-13
God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, in order that you may KNOW that you have eternal life.
Thank God often that Christ is in your life and that He will never leave you.
Hebrews 13:5
I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.
You can know on the basis of His promise that Christ lives in you and that you have eternal life from the very moment you invite Him in. He will not deceive you.
Do not depend on feelings.
The promise of God's Word, the Bible - not our feelings - is our authority. The Christian lives by faith (trust) in the trustworthiness of God Himself and His Word.
FACT
FEELING
FAITH
This diagram illustrates the relationship among FACT (God and His Word), FAITH (our trust in God and His Word), and FEELING (the result of our faith and obedience)
John 14:21
Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.
The train will run with or without the caboose. However, it would be useless to attempt to pull the train by the caboose. In the same way, as Christians we do not depend on feelings or emotions, but we place our faith (trust) in the trustworthiness of God and the promises of His Word.
Now that you have received Christ
The moment you received Christ by faith, as an act of the will, many things happened, including the following:
Christ came into your life
Revelation 3:20
Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.
Colossians 1:27
For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory.
You began the great adventure for which God created you
John 10:10
The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.
2 Corinthians 5:17
This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
1 Thessalonians 5:18
This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
Your sins were forgiven
Colossians 1:13-14
For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.
You received eternal life
John 5:24
I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life.
You became a child of God
John 1:12
But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.
Can you think of anything more wonderful that could happen to you than receiving Christ? Would you like to thank God in prayer right now for what He has done for you? By thanking God, you demonstrate your faith.
Suggestions for Christian growth
Galatians 3:11
So it is clear that no one can be made right with God by trying to keep the law. For the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.

Galatians 5:17-17
So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. 17 The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions.
Acts 1:8
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

Fellowship in a good church
God's Word instructs us not to forsake "the assembling of ourselves together"
Hebrews 10:25
And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.
Several logs burn brightly together, but put one aside on the cold hearth and the fire goes out. So it is with your relationship with other Christians.
